repurposing adventure

I made some cards last night - I did! - and when I uploaded the photos this evening I noticed they were the first photos I'd taken in a month.  Then I logged in here and saw that it's been a month since I posted anything!  hunh - time flies, doesn't it?  I was taking an online class, we made some progress on the house (finally!, since the fire), and there were tax forms to submit, and finally I *needed* some crafting time!  Because Earth Day is in April, Jingle Belles have a tradition of looking for reused, repurposed, or recycled items - pretty much my ♥most favorite♥ prompt, so  I went looking through my seriously diminished supply of "this can't go in the recycle bin yet, it might be useful" bits.  I still have the packaging from a new garden flag I bought, and it looked like it could be repurposed into a Christmas image with the right sketch.  Well, lucky for me, the right sketch was just posted at Unscripted Sketches, (although I did turn it upside down) and when the sentiment needed something to set it off, I was inspired by Pile It On to put some tulle to use, so this is what happened:

stamp set - Delightful Dozen; Stampin' Around wheel - Music Notes; ink - Versamark, Cherry Cobbler; card stock - Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake, Pistachio Pudding, Cherry Cobbler; Big Shot with Ovals framelits, Stampin' dimensionals, Cherry Cobbler tulle (retired)
I also found a book store flyer - I have no idea why I kept it - but it contained this happy illustration which needed to be repurposed as well:
stamp set - Seasonal Sayings; ink - Versamark; Stampin' Emboss powder - white; card stock - Baked Brown Sugar, Real Red, Pear Pizzazz, Always Artichoke

I love them. What a great idea. I need to spend more time in my recycle bin, since it sits there for months.

I think the cardinal is just gorgeous, a really elegant card. But my favourite this the happy, jumping crowd - such a joyous feeling from this image! Great work!
